Eligibility and Application - APPLICATION CLOSED

All local, national, and international emerging and established artists may apply.

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Mediums accepted: acrylic, oil, pastels, drawing, textile, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, or photography. 
• All works must be original, completed within the past three years, and available to exhibit during the exhibition period.
• $30 non-refundable entry fee
• Submit 4-6 low-resolution images (up to 1MB) saved in .jpg format of artworks created within the past three years  (Do not send zip files – we will not open a zip file.)
• All image files must be labeled: FirstName_LastName_Title_HeightxWidth.jpg. (i.e. John_Doe_TheTitle_36x48.jpg).

Deadlines:

*Deadline for submission:                                Thursday, August 1, 2024, by midnight

• Notification of selection:                             Monday, October 21, 2024, by midnight
• Introductory Group Exhibition:               November 16th to December 21, 2024.
• Solo and Group Exhibitions:                      2025 TBD

Selection Process:           

Akwaaba Gallery has assembled a panel of jurors consisting of the Gallery Director, Art professionals, and art collectors to review and identify 1-2 artists in each category, with 2-3 artists selected for solo exhibitions.  Select artist will be required to present and discuss their submissions to the panelist in person at Akwaaba Gallery.  Artists will be contacted by email no later than Monday, October 21, 2024. Only successful applicants will be contacted.
